The highlight for us this month was a trip that many of us took to Honolulu to sing as part of Hawaii’s annual Pearl Harbor Parade. The friendly people, the outdoor rehearsals in the park, the always-changing weather, the trolley ride down the main boulevard – all combined into a memorable and very enjoyable trip! Plus our earlier dress rehearsal in Sacramento made the local CBS news - check it out: https://sacramento.cbslocal.com/video/6167239-harmonies-from-the-heart/

Sacramento Valley Chorus gave ourselves a much-needed Christmas present this year – a new ‘gently used’ trailer to store our risers! Many thanks to member Joanna Davis for finding a trailer that will give us a little extra storage room since our current rehearsal venue did not have any extra space available. Also, kudos to member Cindy Henry and her husband Phil for their help and many suggestions about how the trailer can be modified (by Phil) in order to make loading and unloading the risers a bit easier.

Though regular chorus rehearsals were on hold in December for the holiday break, some of us still got together for our monthly book club meeting (most recent read was Summer Island), our social “Crafty Women” (for quilters, sewers, etc), and a new fundraiser this year: a Tamale Making class held by the Cooking Chicas (Dede Nibler, Angie Yokay, Margaret Leggett, Kirby Cass). See our Facebook page for all of the fun photos!
Finally, congratulations to members Stefanie Carson for achieving her 50-year membership with Sweet Adelines, and also to Shirley Kout for achieving her 60-year membership. You are both amazing and wonderful women!
