Hello to all of you,  It was wonderful to touch bases with those who could make the ZOOM meeting last night.  Thought I’d get a summary off to everyone of what was discussed so we’re all “in the know”.
  • We are booked at the Hyatt Regency on Waikiki.  In August we will be requesting information we’ll need to send to Historic Programs.  This will include roommates, names, and birthdays, as far as I know.  We’ll send out a room reservation form to be filled out for each room so please decide on a room captain to handle this for your room.  All information needed will go on this form.
  • For those wishing to arrive early or stay after, the room rate is a flat rate of $250. per night to be divided between roommates.  The additional dates you’re requesting will go on the room reservation form.
  • There will probably be a 9 AM shuttle for those needing to get to the airport on December 9th, if you wish to take it.  (This still needs to be confirmed with the tour director.)
  • The inbound flight is $355. per person on Southwest Airlines.  We made reservations for 28 passengers.  There is a $100. penalty assessed by the airline for an individual reservation cancellation before October 1st.  After that date, there is no refund.  If you are traveling with the chorus on Dec. 5th on Southwest, we must have your payment ($355. each traveler) by October 1st.
  • Maxine will be sending out information regarding payments that are due.
  • The costume for our performances will be the SVC red tunic top, blue sparkle “scarf”, white capris, pants, or skirt, white comfortable shoes, pearl earrings, and silver sparkly earrings.  Val Richie is in charge of costuming.
  • For those of you wishing to purchase travel insurance to cover the tour costs, you might look into Allianz, Travel Guard, and My Trip as possibilities.  Go on Google search for other possibilities if you wish to purchase coverage.  The airlines have various policies for handling changes, cancellations, and missed flights.  You’ll need to check directly with the airline you are using for details.
  • The next rehearsal is scheduled for August 21st at Stefanie Carson’s house from 9 - 11:00 AM.  Those wishing to stay and swim are invited.  Songs should be in the memorization stage at this point.  Keep your voice in shape by practicing the music for our performances!
We hope you are as excited as we are to be together and performing at Pearl Harbor as we are!  This is going to be an amazing experience for all of us!
Aloha,
Stefanie and Maxine

Hawaii COVID Information: - This information was downloaded on August 14, 2021.  When changes occur, the new restrictions will be relayed immediately to all travelers.

Governor David Ige reports that Hawaii is tightening COVID-19 restrictions amid an alarming spike in cases, but the state is not changing tourist entry requirements, at least yet.  Individuals fully vaccinated in the United States or its Territories may enter Hawaii on domestic flights without pre-travel testing/quarantine starting the 15th day after the completion of their vaccination.  All other travelers must have their negative test results from Hawaii’s trusted testing and travel partners prior to departing as an alternative to a 10-day quarantine.  All passengers who are not in quarantine are free to travel between islands without restriction.  For more information, visit hawaiicovid19.com/travel and register with the state of Hawaii safe travels online system.  All passengers entering Hawaii will have their temperatures checked at the airport and be required to complete a health questionnaire before they can leave the airport.

Federal law requires each person (ages 2 and over) to wear a mask at all times in the airport and throughout the flight, including during boarding and deplaning. Refusing to wear a mask is a violation of federal law and may result in denial of boarding, removal from the aircraft, and/or penalties under federal law. A properly worn mask completely covers the nose and mouth, is secured to the head, and fits snugly against the side of the face. Please click here for more information on this mask policy.

CANCELATIONS
This section repeats information sent out earlier to all travelers.  The current cancelation schedule is as follows:  If you are canceling between March 8, 2021, and August 1, 2021, you will forfeit $400, equivalent to one of the payments already paid to the tour company.  If you cancel between August 2, 2021, and November 1, 2021, you will forfeit 50% of the monies submitted to the tour company.  If you cancel after November 1, 2021, all monies are forfeited.  All money in escrow with Sacramento Valley Chorus (money paid ahead) will be refunded. If new participants are added to our roster, they can be counted as substitutes for those who have to cancel.

If the trip is canceled by Historic Productions, the participant has the option of a complete refund or selecting an optional program.  If the event is canceled due to weather, accidents, acts of God, acts of government, ill, pandemics, terrorism, or any other action outside of Historic Productions control, HP will have no obligation to provide any refund.

No refunds will be granted for features in the trip not utilized.  The cost of replacing lost or stolen tickets is the responsibility of the passenger.  If a flight or transfer by motorcoach or train is missed, the participant is responsible for obtaining his or her own arrangements at their own cost.

Travel Insurance: You are responsible for your own travel insurance arrangements. Mytrip.com and Allianz are two options if you are interested. You can also do your own Google search for other options.
