February was another busy month for SVC. In addition to getting ready for our performance in May, we had several pick-up quartets get together, rehearse for a few weeks, and then deliver Singing Valentines to members of the Sacramento community. It was so heart-warming to see how happy folks were to get a singing gift.
Recently we began looking for a new rehearsal facility within Sacramento County so that we meet the grant requirements of the city. We currently rehearse at a church in nearby Yolo County, but we hope to find our new home soon. The city of Sacramento has been, and still is, very supportive of us and the local Arts community, and we are extra thankful for their sponsorship after these past few years of the pandemic.
We ended the month with some fabulous coaching from the wonderful Erin Howden of North Metro Chorus. She’s always thinking ahead and trying new things, which makes it extra fun to have her with us.
