Hello, Everyone!
Summer is definitely here, and it looks like it may be another hot one. I hope you all have ways to stay cool in the midst of all this.
SVC is busy learning new music and keeping our repertoire in good order. We want to remind folks that we are beginning to work on music for our annual show in October. I hope you are saving the date of October 11 and plan to attend. We don't have a venue yet, but that will be determined very soon.
We have been given an opportunity to participate in a community event. The Sacramento Japanese United Methodist Church will be hosting the musical production of "A Thousand Cranes for Peace, The Story of Sadako, A Peace Cantata for Choir". This is to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of World War II. There will be four rehearsals and four performances during the month of August, and they would like a commitment to as many of these as possible. If any of you have an interest in participating, please take a look at the flyer below.
