Hello from Sacramento Valley Chorus. We are continuing to work to perfect our competition package leading up to the Region 12 event in early May. We presented our package to our friends and family on April 16 at our rehearsal location. By the time you get this email, the event will be just a happy memory.
In the past few months, we have had a number of visitors, most of whom are working to become active members. Two women have accomplished this, passed their music, and will be singing with us on the competition stage. Both are quite motivated and very impressive! I will publish more about them in the next Chapter Chat.
The first is Liz Cobo, who is transferring from another chorus. (I don't remember which chorus, but Mission Valley comes to mind.) She is in our region and reached out to us as soon as she was able.
The second is Amelia Murphy who found us by doing a Google search for singing groups.
We have 3 more people who have come to rehearsals and have expressed an interest in becoming members. There will be more information about them in the coming months.
Our first rehearsal after competition is our annual potluck and installation of management team members. As mentioned before, we are honored to have Barb Vander Putten as our emcee and installation officer. She always makes it entertaining. I will post the new team shortly thereafter along with pictures.
See you in Sparks, Nevada very soon! Best wishes to all the competitors!
