Due to the high volume of generosity during this national day of giving, we are experiencing some technical issues with our local giving site,ww.bigdayofgiving.org.
Since there is so much momentum and excitement with BIG Day of Giving, the deadline has been extended until 3 p.m. tomorrow.
Given the technical difficulties, donations made directly to us via Paypal, will be eligible for prizes and matching funds thru May 4th at 3 p.m.
Thank you SO much for your support and generosity
WoW! Made Ya Look!
Sacramento Valley Rocked at International!
We were so proud to represent our Pacific Shores Region 12 as a wildcard competitor at the recent Sweet Adelines International Convention and Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada! More than 80% of the chorus had never competed at the international level and we were THRILLED that we placed 21st out of the top 34 Sweet Adelines choruses in the world, performing better than 12 experienced international choruses and one other "newbie" to International, like ourselves. We were told by numerous people in the audience that when we started singing people looked up and started paying attention and asking who the heck we were. Haha - made ya look! We have now been bitten by the International bug, understand better what it takes to make it into the Top 10 and are ready to begin our next exciting journey, which we hope will take us back to the International stage in 2017 and into the Top 10!
Sacramento Valley Chorus is an extraordinary group of women who gather together in celebration of the barbershop musical art form, where we sing four-part harmony a cappella. Our repertoire includes traditional barbershop, broadway, jazz, pop, and even a few parodies here and there. We are a proud chapter of Sweet Adelines International and invite you to consider joining us for a fun-filled adventure, with 100+ caring and talented women, as we work to improve our musical skills, perform in our community, bring amazing life and energy to all our performances, and have a great time doing it all, together. If you are a female, age 12+ and like to sing, we invite you to contact us for more information or simply come visit at any rehearsal, described below. Our director is the wonderful Lynne Erickson, Master Director, who inspires us to reach new heights with each performance.
After our 2013 "I'm a Sweet Adeline" video above was showcased by Sweet Adelines International, we were thrilled to see them unveil an international version at the recent International Competition! It is a great testimony to who we are as women and as an organization and invite you to check it out (the video portion begins around the 5:00 minute mark): I Am Sweet Adelines.
We love to entertain by putting on our own musical events each year for the community, our friends, and families. We host an Annual Show, and can be heard throughout the year singing for civic and charitable organizations, private groups, churches, community events, and fundraisers.and holiday functions, such as our annual Christmas performance at the State Capitol rotunda, and our wildly popular Singing Valentines in February. In an effort to stay committed to singing and performing at the highest level possible, we compete each year in a regional contest!
Please contact us to sing at your next special event!
