Margaret Ellison

 

Margaret passed away peacefully on April 4, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. She was a graduate of McClatchy high school in Sacramento, the University of California at Davis and she graduated with honors from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento.

 

After a number of years of private law practice she entered state service as an attorney at the Fair Political Practices Commission.

 

In 1992 she transferred to the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board as an administrative law judge.  In 2006 she retired as the Assistant Chief Administrative Law Judge, Field Operations.

 

In 2000 Margaret joined the Sacramento Valley Chorus and continued to sing Lead with them until her illness made it necessary for her to resign. Even then she was a great supporter of the chorus and came to events as her health permitted.

 

She will be missed by her many friends and loved ones. She enjoyed golf, bridge, singing with the Sacramento Valley Chorus, gourmet cooking with friends, pinochle and traveling to Europe, especially Paris.  She was a loving, caring person to all who knew her and had a unique sense of humor.

 

A Celebration of Margaret's Life was held on April 14, 2006 at  at the George L Klumpp Chapel of Flowers, in Sacramento, CA.
