Ginny Lamb
She has always loved to compete and in 1997 became a life master of the game of bridge . She and Walt played bridge for most of their married life.
Ginny became a member of Sweet Adelines Int'l in 1995 and over the years was part of several choruses; Sierra Gold, Camellia City, and Sacramento Valley. When her daughter’s family returned from England, she left SVC and went to the Mission Valley Chorus in May 2004, moving eventually to Bay Area Showcase. During her time as a Sweet Adeline she also enjoyed singing in several quartets. Ginny very much regretted coming to Sweet Adelines so late in her life.
She took singing seriously. She sought coaching from chorus coaches, and took lessons from Sherry Anderson of Vocal Arts Academy, to improve range, vocal production, breathing and vocal quality. She often donned a costume and put on a show for Sherry ... her way to force herself to be more at home when singing with a quartet. Her "resonance" with Sherry, led to a lasting friendship.
She enjoyed attending (and competing in) Regional and International contests. When she became too ill to attend the Calgary contest, Walt bought a large screen TV so she could enjoy the live Web-cast from their living room.
For the past two years Ginny valiantly fought Liver Cancer, but she is now at peace. She passed away at her home in Auburn, July 7, 2008.
